The result was a completely unusable machine. I use Office 2011 (Excel, mostly) without any problems.īut recently, I tried to upgrade to 10.11.1, using the App Store standard process. Mail is working fine and a number of problems in Yosemite have been resolved. Other than that, there are no system modifications in place.ġ0.11 has been just fine. The new wireless card is still installed (and seems to be working just fine), and I have enabled TRIM on my Samsung 840 EVO SSD. However, with the fresh installation of El Cap, I have NOT re-applied those patches. This worked just fine, but, of course, runs on patched kernel libraries - so a bit of a non-standard system. This is a completely fresh machine, and I've had few to no issues since doing that.ĭisclaimer: Under Yosemite, I replaced the wireless card with a BT4 enabled card so I could try the Continuity Activation capability. So I did a completely fresh installation of El Capitan, and manually migrated all my data across (and reinstalled applications). In an early upgrade to El Capitan, I found many problems. Wonderful machine (except for the graphics issue that has resulted in a couple of mother board replacements), except that I now seem to have a serious problem upgrading to 10.11.1.
